Douglas Cheline, President and Chief Executive Officer

Douglas Cheline, founder and CEO of 7TEL, has extensive experience building Internet and telecommunications companies. Prior to 7TEL, he ran the Marketing team at Tukaroo, a desktop search company.  Douglas was instrumental in the sale to Ask Jeeves in July 2004.

Douglas was a director in the initial team at Telocity, the nationwide leading DSL service provider that went public in 2000.  After DirecTV purchased Telocity in 2001, he led the Product Marketing and Product Development teams that developed advanced network services for DirecTV.  Douglas was a director of Genuity Inc. prior to its purchase by GTE in 1997. Douglas has also held various technical positions in Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector and Network Research Corporation.

Douglas holds various patents in the areas of internet security, internet applications and telecommunications. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from University of California, Santa Barbara and holds an MBA from Thunderbird.
